Thank you, thank you, thank you! Dynamips support will help tremendously. Hopefully I’ll be able to spend more time working on the technologies and less time working around the topology differences resulting from using Dynamips.

Manish - the current R&S, Security and the SP product that will be released Monday - will all support Dynamips. There’s not an extra purchase or different book needed if you plan on running Dynamips as your “vRack” tool.

Caue - Thanks for the support - EIE will truly be an amazing resource and community for CCIE candidates. It’s essentially going to be Facebook, Linkedin, MySpace, Twitter, Meet up, Groupstudy, CCIEblog and Certification Talk / IEOC on steroids….Everything you need with a single login (and SPAM-free and heavily moderated so the community stays productive and valuable!) - many free resources, an “Ask the Expert” (online instructors), free labs, product giveaways, resume / job search (many recruiters assisting in placement), study groups (online) supported by the IPexpert team, etc - and we’re hoping that our competitors participate in this initiative so it’s truly a vendor-neutral meaningful community….more details to come soon!

Does the new dynamips WorkBooks will be part of the free BLS R&S updates?

It sounds fantastic and it is something that has been needed in the community for a long time. It is very hard to maintain your IE studies / work full time and keep up with all the community sites and information that is out there. I look forward to joining it. Thanks. Gary

Wayne,
Any chance for an invitation to the EIE beta? I cannot wait for the Dynamips files to be released, for I think this will greatly improve an already impressive product.
Cheers,
Stan

Any ideas when the Dynamips WB’s will be available to purchase?

“Dynamips will be utilized with our CURRENT workbooks - there’s no upgrade needed.”
So where’s the point? I already have the IPEx topology in dynamips made by myself, you can find it in many forums and newsgroup also, this should not be a new for you.
I just skip the switching part of the labs in the workbooks.
Another vendor shares the topology in their website and sell dynamips-specific workbooks, I tought you’ll do the same. Mine is no a complain, I love your products and the BLS was the better buy I’ve made for my CCIE preparation.

Manish - Again - there’s no updated book - the current books (R&S, Security and SP) will all be “usable” with the Dynamips solution we are now distributing.

Roland - I understand your question, but we decided *NOT* to require people / customers to purchase AN ADDITIONAL product if they want to utilize Dynamips (like our competitors do). To be honest, there’s a way in which some of the switching can be completed - and our configs allow you to do this (minimal). Just to give you some insight into our strategy - when we were a Cisco Learning Partner - we decided *NOT* to push or promote Dynamips - due to it being “outlawed” by Cisco. (We wanted to comply in every way). Now that we’re *NOT* a CLP - we’ve decided to make the files available, but not heavily push or promote Dynamips. Essentially - we’re answering our client’s requests and providing them with a usable Dyanmips config file that they can use if they own our R&S, Security or SP books. Thanks - Wayne

Thanks Wayne - where I can download dynamips .net file for R&S and config? have you released the .net file in member account? if not then when?
Wayne Lawson II says:
December 6th, 2008 at 3:25 pm
Amit - I just spoke with our support group on this. We have the files - and we’ll have the file group created - which means that these files and tutorials will be available under your members area within the IPexpert.com members portal. Tyson Scott will be creating a video tutorial as well as writing a “how to” document showing how to utilize Dynamips (and how to configure, etc.). This info will probably be posted as a blog entry in the coming week. I expect the files to be available to the public Monday - I’ll make an official announcement here. Thanks! - Wayne

Hey Wayne,
Need one more beta tester? I’m just about in the beginning for my SP track preparation, will be great if I can contribute somehow to your new products.
Kind Regards,
